Book 1, Chapter Six: The Wonder Stone, Pages 131 and 132

    Alexander tugs
    honey sunlight over an ear,
    and smirks.

    “Servant…
Since my youth, I have longed and dreamt to see for myself that great, big Ocean which bounds our world.
    I had missed my chance
    once before.”

    He turns to the Servant,
    wearing now the innate majesty
that pulls all fates towards him.
Eyes of starlight and morning dew,
a soul filled with countless dreamings,
and in him a lifetime of wonders,
    and days soon to come.
    He declares,

    “But this time,
    I will miss nothing.
I will see the Ocean. I will cross Paradise.
I will find the Water of Life and I will drink it.
And I will gain all that my heart desires.

    So, yes. I am ready,
for the destiny that awaits me…”
