Book 1, Prologue, Pages 1 and 2
The prologue opens to an empty space. On the floor is a blue marbled stone attached to a string by a hoop. A disembodied narrator (the Author’s Voice) speaks. This will be the only speaker for the entirety of the prologue.
Author’s Voice:
Now, my friends. Tell me,
Have you
with your two ears and two eyes and one voice
ever known a king such
that the world had never seen before…
