Book 1, Chapter Four: The Olympic Games, Pages 75 and 76

    Alexander hesitates.
He places his yoghurt spoon flat against the tip of his tongue. Straining hard to remember,
he really can’t recall, not a thing,
he knows surely he mustn’t have done this,
there are just too many things wrong at the beginning of this chapter to even explain to this old Servant…

“You know what?” Alexander says to himself, chuckling.
“What difference does it make now? Yes.”

    Then he announces loudly
    and happily to the Servant,
“Yes, you’re right! Of course I won a race in my youth!
Hahaha! Why wouldn’t I? Thank you for the reminder!”

The Servant smiles, happy to maintain his belief that kings are great and do impossible things.

Alexander leans back lazily against the palm tree.
“But Servant, my memory is hazy.
    So please, tell me:
    what happens next?”
